The Silver Road. The Life of Mervyn King, Circus Man.
Mark St Leon Acrobat, lion tamer,boss tentman,animal trainer, circus proprietor, Mervyn King has spent most of his life in the circus. As a seven year old in 1915 his family decided to give him away to the circus and apprenticed as an acrobat. There were no adoption laws in 1915. In 1946 he formed Silver's Circus one of Australia's best loved shows in the post-war period. His was the first motorised circus to cross the Nullabor Plain to Western Australia by road.
