The Honour of the House

Life at Saint Madoc's would certainly be very wonderful, thought Paulina, as she arrived as a new girl for her first term. But never in her wildest dreams did she imagine it would hold so many surprises for her, both pleasant and unpleasant. It was rather a blow to find oneself a member of the most insignificant House in the school—blighted by the incredible Kibble Tradition—those unbelievable Kibbles—Dolores, Olga, Dagmar and Fatima—each one more pudding-faced, stolid and bursting with smug superiority and complacent family devotion than the other.
