The Nightwalker John and Eleanor Bayden bought the six-foot pedestal at a country auction. Of rich, blood-brown mahogany, it had a base of three delicately carved clawed feet and would, the Baydens thought, look very handsome in the living room. Soon thereafter, clicking, scrapping, thudding noises were heard in the darkness of the night - and scratches were found on the well-polished floor. Soon the nocturnal noises would darken the lives of the Baydens with a hellborn horror neither could have imagined!
