Punctuation Station

An Interactive Journey Through Five Different Punctuation Destinations With Conductor Carl. Alone or in pairs, students complete activities such as creating comic strips, writing letters, and mining biographies for ''quotable quotes'' while on a train trip centered on the proper use of punctuation. Each of five destinations includes four or five lessons on a particular punctuation mark (periods, exclamation points, question and quotation marks, and commas). As a culminating activity, students create autobiographical "Me Mobiles" incorporating all they've studied. The teacher's guide provides complete procedures, handout masters, and assessments; the 34'' x 22'' map helps chart students' progress; and a copy of the book Yo!
