Life After Death Growing past the 28 Days of Refining, Renewing, Restoring, and Refreshing Growing Past the pain doesn’t mean that you magically erase the pain that comes from the loss of anything we deem important to us. It means that we don’t allow the pain to become debilitating or allow it to stop us from living by living in fear of what may go wrong now that we have experienced this pain. In this book, the author Nicole Winters provides insight on her own personal experience with pain stemming from the loss of her son at only 13 months old. Unlike other devotionals, her content focuses on seeing pain as a part of our process and not as punishment by giving intimate details of her day by day experience with growing past the pain. N.W found it hard to return to school after the death of her son and dropped out, but later obtained two B.A. degrees from Mt. Mercy University in Business and Human Resource Management, and is currently working toward her masters in Professional School Counseling. Her experience with loss did not just end with the death of her son, but later she would also experience the death of her marriage after 21 years. She has been resilient, and able to grow past her encounters with pain and she continue to grow forward. She is a Licensed minister and a mother of four beautiful children A grandmother to one and a half grandchildren whom she loves dearly (it’s just that the second grandbaby is still in the oven). She’s a motivational speaker, an agent of healing, a minister and most importantly, a heart that has experienced pain and a heart that has been healed from her pain. When N.W is not writing she’s facilitating support groups, exercising, studying the Bible, and spending time with her family and friends.
