I began writing short stories and poetry in junior high and high school. At that time I had read a lot of Edgar Allen Poe. My poem—A Hand, An Arm – was published in an Arizona magazine. My Aunt had submitted it. I never submitted anything during this era. I knew that it did not yet write will enough to have my stories published. Looking back my coming of age (16) X and Y, while it is of youyh seeking sexual adventures, it is a good look at what it was like to be in high school in the pre-Beatles early 1960s. In college, now a serious student, my stories started to address subjects of knowledge and science. The best of these was The Ultimate Freedom. I set them forth an approximate order.
