Outcast London: A Study in the Relationship Between Classes in Victorian Society

In the second half of the 19th century, Victorian civilization felt increasingly threatened by "outcast London". This is a study of the problem that was at the centre of the crisis: the casual poor and their relation with the labour market, with housing and with middle-class London.
