Cell Cycle Regulators in Cancer

Cancer can be tersely yet accurately described as improper cell proliferation. To understand cancer we must first understand the genetic and biochemical mechanisms responsible for proper cell proliferation. The last five years have witnessed the characterization of several families of novel proteins involved in cell cycle regulation and the clarification of the biochemical processes in which they participate.
