The Hero has fallen and, in his place, stands Joan against what horrific fate is coming. Still haunted by the memories of so many past failures, Joan is beginning to come to terms with her new existence and accept that, despite her desires, there are just things she cannot do now that she is living as a normal person. Worse, she is beginning to see the impact the Hero had on the lives of others and the multitude of ways that the world is shifting from what she knew. However, knowledge of upcoming events gives her one more opportunity, a chance to cut ahead of the most pressing threat, the return of the Inferno God.
