The Sudden Metropolis

The year is 1900. Repatriated from the Boer war with typhoid fever, disillusioned Doctor John Hunston leaves his Harley Street practice for a remote posting in the goldfields of Western Australia. One night, a dying priest reveals the location of ‘the sacred nugget’, a fabled piece of gold worth a fortune. Hunston is not the only interested party, however, and is soon pitted against an unscrupulous foe. Dragged down an ever more dangerous path, salvation will come in a form he could never have anticipated.
