What Doesn’t Kill Her chronicles a woman’s psycho-kinetic ability through numerous run-ins with nefarious scientists, spies, and terrorists. Her enemies are intent on torturing her until she bends to their will. The story echoes concepts presented in the X-Files: secret malevolent government agencies, reptilian aliens, and superhuman abilities. Katrina has the ability to recognize and manipulate energy waves which makes her a prize, dead or alive for any unscrupulous organization. She interprets energy waves the way SONAR detects objects in water. Her attackers continually underestimate her resistance to electro-magnetic torture, her endurance, and the strength of her power once she unleashes it. With every attack, Katrina gets closer to death. Conversely, with every attack, she gains more power and greater abilities through the use of her mind. No one, not even she, knows her limits. Throughout the novel, her abilities grow until they reach a lethal level. Careening from one crisis to the next, Katrina wages a life and death battle both real and supernatural.
