'Misery Ponds is a wretched place, somewhere in the flat, empty outback in the middle of Australia. The Mallyroot family have lived in the pub there ever since Great-Grandpa Ebenezer built it 100 years ago. When Ma & Pa decide to rake up customers, things don't look too promising. Enter Hiram B Rumbleburger & his li'l wife Bluebird, from the good old US of A, who show Ma & Pa the way to become part of Australia's booming tourist industry.' Their first visitors are a group of Japanese kite flyers.
