Nathaniel has been feeling lonely on his ranch in western Texas. He decides to post an advertisement to find a wife. Texas man, looking for a Christian wife. No dowry required. That’s the advertisement that Emily Stuart responds to. She pulls all of her courage together to start a new life, even though she is very shy. Emily wants to be able to decide for herself, who she’ll marries. She refuses to marry Victor Wellington, the city’s worst rake with horrible reputation. Instead, she becomes a mail order bride. Nathaniel tells himself that he’ll marry whoever comes off the stagecoach, as he stands on the side of the road waiting for her. A man can’t be picky with so few women around. He’s positively surprised when the most beautiful woman he has ever seen steps out. He tells himself again and again that it doesn’t matter why she is here. But there has to be a reason for such a sweet beauty to leave her fine home in Boston and come all the way out to Texas. This is an old-fashioned spanking romance. If such things offend you, please don’t buy the book.
