Margaret is a respectable dressmaker's apprentice in Bristol, filled with hopes and dreams for her future. She plans to marry her best friend’s brother and have her own shop one day, until tragedy strikes her family, leaving her hungry for a solace her comfortable middle class life can't provide. When a remarkable young man from a mysterious American faith seems to have answers, Margaret must decide if her old dreams are enough or if she needs something more—something that threatens to tear her away from everyone and everything she holds dear.
