Deanna is convinced that she was adopted at birth. She’s nothing like her distant and unimaginative parents. Deanna’s also not so sure she’s a ‘she’, but doesn’t quite know what to do with that. So when Rose, a previously deceased chicken, tells Deanna that she is the child of the Queen of Magitoria and that they have less than a week to save her parents’ homeland from the evil Mr. Sactual, Deanna is eager to help. But the trip to Magitoria is fraught with obstacles and Deanna’s only weapons are a great imagination and her drawings. The land is also home to many gender non-conformists, which gives Deanna much to consider when she’s (they’re) not busy being kidnapped by pirates, almost eaten by pleongers or taken in as a pet by Tiramisu Trolls.
