“Red Sugar, No More” as the title signifies is about relationships and feelings gone wrong. They are just no longer healthy for the protagonist. Each blurted rhyme within this chapbook is born out of inner most feelings; from fear to loss, joy to love & mental issues. Its themes include bullying, friendship, betrayal, pain, feminism, sexism, societal pressure, victimization and amoral foolishness, defeat, standing back up, sleep paralysis, paranoia, anxiety as well as depression and suicide. It's a coming of age story about a girl who loses her grounding after finding out that life isn't black and white. It's an amalgamation of so many other colours. It's going to be a book series. In this part, she has just started writing and catharting ... everything is messy just like her words. The main theme being healing is messy but necessary.
