Languages of Scotland

On 15 November 1975 there was a one-day conference in the University of Glasgow on English as We Speak it in Scotland. This meeting was so successful that it was followed by another in the same place on 13 November 1976 on Scotland's Languages: the Contemporary Situation. The present volume contains revised and (in several cases) expanded versions of the papers given on these two occasions.
