$13.27 That's the balance left between my checking and savings accounts. It's all gone--the nest egg I'd saved is sitting in some off shore bank account with someone else's name on it I lost my job due to downsizing. I lost my money in a dumb credit card scam. And now rent is due and my fridge is depressingly empty. Thank God for my best friend, Charlie. She’s hooked me up with a gig as personal assistant in her father’s publishing agency. If it wasn’t for her, I’d probably wind up living in my car eating the leather off the steering wheel. Funny thing is, my biggest conundrum is no longer where my meal will come from. Mr. Miller is ridiculously sexy and I can't stop picturing my best friend’s dad and new boss in very unprofessional ways. The even bigger problem? I think Mr. Miller might be thinking of me the same way.
