Alison Rumfitt "we must not cavort
w/ ‘goblin’/gobbling
‘men’ we must not
drink from their
dirt bowels of sugar"
Alison Rumfitt's debut poetry pamphlet is about transness and vaginas and bodily autonomy. In the centrepiece, she imagines the experiences of trans women in a dystopia akin to Handmaid's Tale, investigating their absence, and in doing so builds both a moving narrative and an in-depth criticism of Margaret Atwood.
