The Kettel Mill Mystery

Matt Winters is a milkman living in Southport Junction. He had enjoyed helping solve the mystery in the first novel, so when a suspicious death occurs in Plainsborough, Matt helps Captain Lock to solve it. A 40 year old artist named Josephine Cromwell and her Chinese servant, Kuan Chung, have been living in the old Kettel Mill for 6 months. Everyone is talking about her. Why would she want to stay at that old place which isn't safe to live in? A man that works at the bank, named Frank Foster, is found dead near the mill. He was shot in the head. Was it murder or suicide? He had recently found out he didn't get the promotion to manager,even though he has been at the bank for 25 years. Matt and Captain Lock have a hard time finding a motive for murder. And then there is another death and this time it is unquestionably murder.
