Lyme 1806: While studying medicine in Edinburgh, Benjamin Whitehorn receives news of his father’s death and suspends his studies to attend the funeral. Upon his arrival, he saves Matilda Dyson from near catastrophe. He is instantly drawn to her. He knows she is out of his reach but he is unable to get her out of his mind.
