Mr Blackwood's Fabularium

It is 1851 and Percy Blackwood is in debt. Facing financial ruin, he organises a trip from Canterbury to the Great Exhibition in London. Whilst on the train, he invites his guests to tell stories which he intends to publish anonymously. Their colourful tales form a panorama of Victorian England - from the bookbinder's story of the lost library to the governess's story of a scandal in a young ladies' academy.
