It is 1982 and Fran McDowell has escaped her native Belfast but is barely surviving in London. When she falls pregnant accidentally, a chance friendship rescues her, but after the birth of her daughter, she needs to come to terms with her past on her own. Drawn to the Greenham Common protests Fran seeks to understand and resist the roots of personal and political violence.
