Let's talk about freedom , about a freedom pill . Everyone dreams of a pill that will give them special strength. A pill that would take away their flaws. What if you were offered such a pill- it takes away your sexual attraction, your emotions, only for six hours. Would you take it? Meet Senso. She exists just a few steps into the future. Senso is a clever, cynical and somewhat sassy seventeen year old girl. She's not friendly, but knows how to be a true friend. However, after what happened to her, Senso cannot entirely trust anyone. Senso doesn't like being in the spotlight. She's a bit of an outsider by choice, who enjoys the extreme experiences life throws in her direction. Seroise is the closest person to Senso. When Seroise is brutally murdered, Senso has to find her own way into the adult world, which in her eyes leaves a lot to be desired. While working on their final project in high school, Senso and her best friend Moon meet Oz Aotlimtz a brilliant young professor. He tells them about the freedom pill- his revolutionary invention which has the ability to relieve people from their emotional and physical attractions. Senso and Moon's association with Oz is not viewed favorably by the Life Guard, the merciless police force created to eliminate the Freedom pill, at all costs. Nonetheless, the popular pill is illegally distributed in Ireland and rapidly spreads throughout Europe and the western world. Senso has to fight or risk losing everything. Driven by her personal hardships and the war escalating in her homeland, Senso sets out on a life changing journey. She discovers love and hate at their strongest, encounters people who are kind and funny and others who are cruel and cold. Senso loses Rebel, her first love, and discovers that her relationship with Oz may have taken a new direction. Senso manages to find her own way in a world that is now fighting over Freedom and institutionalizing the separation of men and women.
