HMMMINGS

A collection of mainstream fiction short stories; mysteries, thrillers, and science fiction loaded with conflicts between science and religion. One story is about a couple on Kelly's Island in Lake Erie during the off season when few people are on the island and they are stalked by a potential killer. Another is about a preacher who has a stash of guns in his garage and the children who discover them, leading to their being in trouble, Still another tells about a scouting party from earth trying through space travel to find an habitable planet for human to relocate to as Earth is decaying and the discord between science and religion regarding the beginnings of the human species. There's a story about a son joining a terrorist group, without his parents knowing of it, and, when his father comes to rescue him, the father learns of the sons defection in a disastrous way. The last tale is about the near ending of the world and the trials of survivors trying to contact others but in the end one of the survivors makes a connection to a verse in the Bible that will surprise you.
