Amelia Batistich STORIES is a celebration of Amelia Batistich's work. She has been writing for forty-five years and has published two novels and numerous short stories. This is a selection of new and previously uncollected short stories, together with some old favourites. Also included is her most recent work, the humorous novella In all her stories, Amelia Batistich chronicles the lives of immigrants. She writes of Dalmatian settlers torn between two countries, cultures, and languages; of early gumdiggers and farmers digging and shaping their new land; and of the lives, struggles, and experiences of people making a home for themselves in a foreign country.
