Storm Bird

Twelve-year-old Jenny is made to leave her father in London to go and live with her horrible Aunt Clara in a small Suffolk town. When she gets there she finds life is even worse than she expected. For her fearsome aunt has a secret that affects everyone in Newbrigg. But Jenny is resourceful, and makes friends with Josh, the son of Aunt Clara's employers. Josh loves birds and soon Jenny is passionate about them too. But then she discovers that Josh also has a secret, and his problems become entangled with her own. In the end, however, it is only because Josh stands up for her that Jenny can survive the greatest crisis of her life.
