Hannah's House

It is the early 1840's on the frontiers of Missouri. The orphaned children are determined to stay together. Hannah Harelson, intrepid little "mother" and housekeeper for her brothers and sisters, fights drought, grasshoppers, and fire in an effort to pay off old Gideon Baxter and hang on to the farm the children's parents had homesteaded before their deaths during a cholera epidemic. Grandma Peabody comes to the rescue in time of extreme trouble, soothing sick bodies and offering sage advice. Sagameeshee, an Osage Indian, and Mr. Cambright, storekeeper and cosigner of the mortgage on the Harelson farm, prove to be good friends when the children's heroic efforts need a boost.
