Pandora's Shadow is a Gunslinger Meets Lucifer’s Hammer story of the post-nuclear world. Norman Johannsen is a fifth-generation shelter dweller who is dispatched on a mission to the surface that will take him across half a continent. He is surprised to discover that the world a few miles away from the decimated landscape surrounding the shelter has healed itself and moved on. When a band of roving scavengers destroys his ride, Norman finds himself on foot an in need of help. When the same bunch of renegades attacks a nearby village, Johannsen chases them off with his superior firepower. The villagers offer their undying gratitude and any assistance he needs. But what can a village full of Bronze Age reversionists (sic) do to help a technologically advanced soldier like Johannsen? Follow him across the new face of America as he discovers new friends, new truths and the wild array of mini-civilizations that evolved after the Mother of all Wars. The real question is, can he save the world from a bunch of deluded generals swimming in centuries’ old glory who have never seen the light of day?
