Aniello DellaCroce was tutored by Albert Anastasia, a tough, ruthless Mafioso who led the crime network that grew into the Gambino family. Anastasia was succeeded by Carlo Gambino, Paul Castellano and John Gotti. DellaCroce was a mobster who was involved in murder, loansharking, tax evasion and racketeering. Unlike many in his profession he died a natural death. Aniello or Neil, as he was sometimes called, led an unsuccessful revolt against an aging Carlo Gambino in the early 1970s.
