The Truth About Kim O'Hara

Andy Szabo, fifteen, is finally going out with Kim O'Hara, the Asian-American beauty whom he'd longed for all through junior high. He's looking forward to his family's move into an odd, bargain-priced Greenwich Village townhouse, where he'll have the perfect setting for romance: a very private room on its own floor, lavishly decorated. Andy promises to help renovate the dilapidated townhouse, but the job is far worse than he'd ever imagined. And private room or not, he's getting nowhere with Kim. She says she loves him, but her rigid self-control makes Andy berserk with frustration. He can't help thinking about all the other girls in the world, starting with the redhead in his new high school. He likes Kim, he wants to be a nice guy, but... Kim is a puzzle. Her relentless drive to be perfect in every way doesn't fit with her pleasant, easygoing parents. She won't share Andy's enthusiasm about tutoring children at the homeless shelter. Some of her reactions make no sense to him at all. Maybe they have nothing in common. Maybe it's even time to break up. Then, at a desperate moment, Andy learns the shattering truth about Kim O'Hara.
