Published in 1930, the classic adventure novel Swallows and Amazons was written by "the man who hated children", journalist Arthur Ransome. Eric Pringle 's play is about the events leading up to the publication of the book. Starring Richard Briers as Arthur Ransome and Susannah York star as his second wife, Evgenia Ransome.
