For Richer or Poorer Miss Annette Courtney spent many years begging for donations from the miserly Sir Nigel Montfort on behalf of the poor tenants residing on his estate. Now that he's passed away, she wonders if the new baronet will be just as stingy. But Annette finds her worries are unfounded--as she has inherited Sir Nigel's fortune! Sir Gerard Montfort is outraged. He knew Uncle Nigel believed him a wastrel, having refused to bestow even an allowance upon him, but he never imagined he would be left vagrant.
