The She-Wolf

The story of Isabella, wife of Edward II of England, is that of a beautiful and intelligent woman embittered by her husband's scorn and the slights he inflicted on her. One ambitious favourite after another - Piers Gaveston, Hugh Despenser - ousted her from her husband's side, so she turned for support and love to another ambitious man, Roger Mortimer.
