Jaqueline Catherin Laveau or Jackie is a private detective who investigates ritual homicides and all things deemed weird. For years, she’s worked on her own, and that’s how she had liked it. But all that is about to change as her boss hires his cousin Nathan as her new partner. Nathan has some unexpected surprises of his own to grow accustomed to as a series of murders, mass prison fires, and an alliance with a being from another realm throw him straight into Jackie’s unexplainable world. Jackie must come to terms with a past that has haunted her for centuries and a new threat which could bring upon the destruction of this world. Mystical obstacles aren’t the only things standing in her way. She must learn to work with her slippery reporter ex-boyfriend, Eli, while also not getting caught by Police Detective Kelt, who she has a shaky past with. Jackie must face her fears, and embrace her power to quell the coming darkness and save humanity as we know it.
