Female Genital Cutting: Perspectives of the Somali Community in London on the discourse against FGC
Hoda Salad Female Genital mutilation/cutting is a term used to describe practices that involve the partial or total removal of female genitalia in the name of religion, culture and tradition within the practising societies, predominantly in Africa. This research explores the views of the Somali community living in London on the discourse against FGC, in particular whether or not the Somali community feel part of the discourse around the topic and agree, or not, with eradicating FGC.
