The Withered Arm

Whilst the LSWR's acquisition of the Barnstaple line was controversial, its neglect and decline under the management of the Western Region led to it being referred to as the 'Withered Arm'. This book draws on an archive of photos, and is a pictorial tribute to the final years of steam operation in the region of north Devon and Cornwall.
