AEthelwold was a close associate of St. Dunstan and allied with him in his reforms of the Benedictine order. Under AEthelwold's bishopric, the abbey of Winchester flourished as a major center of art and letters. Until now there has been no full translation and critical edition of this work, which was written by Wulfstan of Winchester around the year 1000.
