"Harvey Hippo Wants to Fly!" is about...well the title says it all. Harvey Hippo, himself, is just about the most adorable hippo in the world! He is everybody's friend. Kids love him, and can't get enough of his stories, told in picture-book form. Parents can’t help but love him too, because his stories are so inspiring. Never mind that he is just a kid, he has big dreams, and likes to try things the other animals, his age, hardly ever think about doing. He is curious, impulsive, funny, and a little bossy, at times. Understandably, at his tender age, he is inexperienced, which causes him agony and frustration whenever he ventures to do things beyond his capabilities. But Harvey doesn’t let his drawbacks hold him back in life. His determination, open mind, willingness to adapt and eagerness to learn from others often see him through his difficult moments, helping him to achieve what he sets out to do, and at the same time helping him grow in experience. Harvey’s parents play a very important role in his life. They are often amazed, amused and even bewildered by their son’s exploits. But in their own way, they encourage and guide him, yet giving him enough space to discover his mistakes and find solutions on his own.
