Chris McAllister enjoys teasing and flirting too much to settle down - until he meets Sarah McGill. The spunky, red-haired veterinarian has him charmed from the first time he witnesses her gentle and caring way with animals. Sarah is charmed, too, but unwilling to consider the possibilities. The widow of rodeo rider Jake McGill, she has already had more than enough of the sorrow that can come with commitment. As they work together on a special project, advising the Navajo nation on a new commercial venture, Sarah and Chris find more common ground than either of them had imagined, but they also discover more differences than they had previously known - differences that may be too great to overcome.
