The competing bakery in Madeline McDougal's town has a new proprietor. Should Madeline be worried? Nonsense... he can't compete with Madeline's "famous cupcakes!" Why even the bakery's new owner Evan, would agree... they're "killer." Madeline always wanted people to enjoy her famous cupcakes but she never for a second dreamed they'd actually kill anyone! When paying Evan a visit to wish a fellow pastry chef good luck, Madeline brought him a box of her famous cupcakes as a "welcome" gift. Now it appears as if those very cupcakes were what killed him. An investigation by police chief Connors reveals the tasty treats were laced with poison, and Madeline is his chief suspect! Did she do it? Could she do it? Or is the REAL culprit still walking free? It's up to Madeline and her helpful friends to clear her name once and for all.
