Betty Archdale born in London 1907 and growing up in the forment of the women's suffrage movement. Her mother, Helen Archdale was a leading member of the suffragettes and travelled widely promoting their cause. Betty qualified as a barrister, joined the WRNS at the outbreak of war. She was one of the most outspoken, innovative educators in Australia.
