Green Grass of Home

The journey of Mary and Richard Humphrey and their boys began in 1847. It was a similar trip taken by about one million Irish to America. Another one million traveled to Australia and one million to Canada. Unhappily, one million died in Ireland. The story of the Humphrey family is historical fiction. It shows some of the trials and sadness of their struggles. Through perseverance and strength they found their own land in Iowa, which was their new green grass of home.
