It explores the ramifications of countries dividing into opposing groups over a rumoured lab-leak and gain of function theory for the coronavirus pandemic. The novel grapples with the factors that lead to different types of terrorists - from foot soldiers to lone wolves. This novel also discusses the contributing factors to the recent surge in terrorism for which corrupt regimes play a central role. Ibil is set in the backdrop of coalition forces' withdrawal from Afghanistan during a global coronavirus pandemic. The climax of the novel takes place in the Seven Day War during which the Taliban forces conquer Afghanistan at breakneck speed with help from Pakistan. Their opponent, the Northern Alliance is supported by Tajikistan and India to maintain control over the Panjshir Valley. During the war, despite from opposing sides, many intelligence operatives have to work together to stop the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) from starting a chimera virus pandemic.
