ā€œAn exceptional LuminiÅ£a Mihai Cioaba First of all, LuminiÅ£a Mihai Cioaba is an extraordinary bilingual she writes in Romanian, as well as in Romany exciting poems penetrated by a deep religious feeling in sharing the surrounding astonishing and life, endless epiphany... What distinguishes her, within the Romanian poetry of today which highly exceeds what is being written in Europe at the moment, is, first of all, the purity of musical intonation she has inherited as a representative of an ancient ethny originating in India. Then, LuminiÅ£a Mihai Cioabă's poetry has an intense dramatism, with a tragic flow, maybe because she herself wants to change her poetry into a destiny meant as a personal arrangement, as well as an ethnical collective fate she belongs to. I have known LuminiÅ£a for a long time; I know as well her passion for learning and writing, and I think she is outstanding as a literaly personality, even if she wrote in Romanian, exclussively. She is striving for more, she is aiming at foundation, she is fighting for imposing the Gypsy expression to the civilized and this thing requires time and method. Civilization knows sacred and vernacular languages as well as idioms spoken by lost tribes spread all over the world studied by remarkable anthropologists as Claude Levi-Strauss. When they are referred to as a vertical communicative force, from people to people, we can know their limits and efficiency statistically, but we know no more what languages and words are dear to God; that's why as we worship God in numberless, let's exalt God in all languages.ā€ -Cezar Ivănescu ā€œThe Holy Scripture says that each one will be called to be judged by his kind in the Iosafat's Valley. For our God is the God of Peoples, too. He allows nations to be born, perish, rule one over the others, He enslave them forages and finally sets them free. The moment a nation starts speaking, no one can doubt about its existence. Pieces of news come about it, about its judgement, wisdom, occupations and pursuits from far away. They mainly point at the dangers that might cause its disappearance. But if this people dares writing, then nobody can deny its right to belong to history. Poets are responsible for this miraculous act of penetrating the history, they are the true founders of peoples, they should be praised in churches for not having let their peoples vanish. That is what LuminiÅ£a has been doing since she started she has saved her people from being forgotten. And I warn you, ignorants, now, when her people is at a crucial moment, that LuminiÅ£a will be remembered amoung the founders of her people.ā€ -Mircea Ciobanu
