Who do you call when the Heroes and Superheroes of Highland City are being murdered? A discarded sidekick, who else? Maggy Hofsted, formerly Star Kid, has spent the last nine years adjusting to civilian life; a low-paying job, a dumpster cat, and a shithole apartment in the city. But she doesn't take it seriously when the Superhero Retention Agency approaches her with a warning for her safety. That is until she stumbles across a murder taking place.
