Connie gets her dream job when she goes to work for a vampire she’s known all her life, but the position gives—and takes—more than she expects. While the pay and benefits are great, so are the challenges. As a former nurse and administrator, Connie has the skills needed to manage Matthew’s household and care for an elderly woman in his keeping, but working for him requires a mental, emotional, and moral flexibility not included in most job descriptions. Connie becomes her boss’s donor, falls into an affair, and finds herself caught in that gray area where right, wrong, and maybe overlap. When their home is invaded by an enemy of Matthew’s, intent on settling an old score, Connie finds out just how far she’ll go for someone she loves.
