Fred Mead broadcast over four and a half thousand interviews during his long career in regional radio in Western Australia. This book is about the wonderful people he met and interviewed. Fred talked to and interviewed thousands of people from a variety of backgrounds, all who were interesting people and many with extraordinary experiences. That is what this book is all about. People. And some of the odd things people do, even important people! This book is not Fred Mead's autobiography, in fact it s not about Fred Mead at all. He loved his job, he loved the ABC and most of all, he loved getting the most out of people by way if his interview technique.Fred passed away in 2000, but he left us with this great document, an historic document, in this book. Because most of his work was done in the 50s, 60s and 70s, many if not most of the people he interviewed during his career are no longer with us. Fred would be most pleased and proud to know their stories live on through his book.
