Pastoralism and metallurgy emerged at the same time in the arid Southern Levant. The values of coppersmiths left a deep mark on the nomads' mythology. The symbolism of this cultic cooperation is documented not only in the rock art of the Negev Desert, but also in the pages of the Bible.
