Saga of the Old Ones

It was the first of the month, so he put on his coat and headed to the harbour by the big hotel in Victoria. This was the meeting place for when they would return. They would be a little too young to be able to get away from their new parents, but the chance was there, so he took a stroll by the water. He spotted a girl about five years old with her back to him. She was an Old One. Her new parents must be nearby. He caught his breath and walked up to her. "Kittens," he said quietly.
